Explore the Night Sky at the Vanderbilt Planetarium

Join us for a live, family-friendly presentation at the Vanderbilt Planetarium, where the night sky comes to life like never before. Developed by the Planetarium staff, this program showcases the brilliant stars, constellations, and deep-sky objects visible from Long Island using the star projector to its fullest capabilities.

Following the program, and weather permitting, the Observatory will be open for visitors to look through the 16-inch Cassegrain telescope and see the celestial wonders discussed during the show.

Event Highlights:

  • Live star presentation showcasing seasonal constellations and deep-sky objects

  • Fully immersive experience using the Planetarium’s state-of-the-art star projector

  • Observatory access with guided telescope viewing (weather permitting)

Recommended for ages 6 and up.
